5 things my 2 year old is loving lately

Chase turned 2 in October 2021 and he is the type of kiddo who loves anything that moves, makes noise, or gets his hands dirty. He also loves all books, any type of craft project, and running without looking where he’s going. It’s quite the mix of letting me empty the dishwasher without wondering if he’s getting into trouble and me kissing boo-boos.

Here is what he is currently and continuously playing with around the house!

TOYS…

1. Melissa and Doug Shape Sorting Dump Truck: this he got as a gift for his 2nd birthday and has been a hit since day 1. He knows most of these shapes by name, all the colors, and where they go on the truck. In case you’re wondering, the purple oval is definitely his preferred shape ;)

2. Mega Bloks Cat Large Dump Truck: a Christmas gift for Chase from my former nanny family. He loves throwing the blocks more than he does building with them, but that will come with time. He pushed the dump truck all over the house and stores other toys in the back as well.

CRAFT & LEARNING ACTIVITIES…

3. Homer Learning App + Contixo V10 Kids Tablet: this app is absolutely fantastic! It has a mix of learning and listening games plus songs and books “on tape” as well as other coloring and other activities. After a few times of me guiding him how to navigate the app, Chase can now bounce back and forth between the game and song categories and scrolls to find the activities he wants. This screen time is mom-guilt-free when they’re learning and working on so many skills as a toddler! Highly recommend!! At the time of posting, there is a free 60-day trial for the Homer app with my link, normally a 30-day free trial.

4. Dot Markers + Activity Book: a birthday gift from my sister, Chase loves using all the colors to make pictures and decorate cards for family members. Once the dot markers come out, Chase works on the same piece of paper for a while before asking for stickers to decorate his picture!

BOOKS…

5. Toy Story 4 Look & Find Hardcover: we have a ton of Look & Find books in the house and love how engaging they are for both quality parent-child time as well as independent time. Chase will often sit and look through the books, sometimes saying aloud what he’s looking at or looking for and pointing to everything. Cannot recommend these books enough. Let me know if you’d like the names of the others we have.
