5 of my favorite maternity must haves

Now that I’ve experienced a pregnancy where my 3rd trimester was in the summer and another with a winter 3rd trimester, I can officially say that as long as you have a couple solid staples, your maternity wardrobe doesn’t have to change that much from one pregnancy to another. Sure, you may need a new jacket or bathing suit for the expanding top and bottom portions of your body and maybe a couple new pairs of shorts, but aside from the things below, I’ve been utilizing my current closet full of layering options!

Also, keep in mind that I live in New Jersey where we have 4 traditional seasons. If you’re down south or somewhere else in the world, this list may look different for you. But I’ve done my best to wrangle up my TOP 5 most important maternity necessities - for your closet but also for your every day comfort.

1. Kizik hands-free sneakers: I stumbled across these shoes in an Instagram ad and they got me hook, line, and sinker. Partnering with Kiziks has been a game changer! Think of how great your favorite pair of slip on shoes is… and now add that with the best pair of sturdy soles AND not having to keep having the heel slip off or fold down when you try to put them on! MIND BLOWING! I don’t know what kind of witchcraft they use to make these but they are truly the pregnant lady’s best friend! Check out their various styles for both men and women! 2. Blanqi support leggings and tanks: these are worth their weight in gold! I have partnered with Blanqi in the past and their products are top notch. I also own a pair or 2 of their postpartum leggings, a nursing tank, and cooling maternity slip dress. The products I haven’t tried but would are their bike shorts and denim collection.

3. Snoogle maternity pillow: I use this pillow as soon as I find out I’m pregnant and continue using for months into my 4th trimester/postpartum months. No matter which way you use it, I find that pulling it tight around me gives me both back and belly support and you can prop it up on your regular pillow if you want more of an inclined sleep. I also bought this jersey knit pillow case for it that makes for easy washing.

4. Gap tank tops: the ones I originally bought when I was pregnant in 2019 have been discontinued but these are the newer version and I just love them so much. Chase was born in October so I was VERY pregnant all summer but these tanks make the perfect staple ALL year! I’ve been layering them under all the regular fit cardigans throughout this fall/winter pregnancy and they’re very comfortable!

5. Tubby Todd Bath Co All Over Ointment: my face has been ridiculously dry and this cream has not only helped Chase’s dry arms and leg patches but my face as well! We also use their bath and body lotion lines and love how every product is gentle enough for newborns and toddlers and good for sensitive skin. We plan to use it on baby, too!
