5 mess-free thanksgiving crafts to do with your kids

This blog post is for the moms who are less “Pinterest Mom” and more “Amazon Prime Mom”. Or those moms who say “play-doh is only allowed at school” but also want to spend time with your kids making crafts and memories! I promise you won’t hate me after you create these special moments with your little ones ;)

If you’re new here, welcome! My name is Beth and I am a boy mom to a 3 year old and 8 month old. I’m also a certified teacher and a former preschool teacher and love watching my boys learn through playing. My three year old isn’t always into crafts but sometimes when I angle it the right way, he’s happy to get creative with me.

I’ve put together a short list of thanksgiving crafts you can do with your kids at home without making a huge mess. It’s inevitable that we’re going to have to clean, but let’s not drag out the vacuum more than we have to… am I right?

So here we go! 5 crafts that will be at your door within 2 days and keep your kids entertained for at least 5 minutes! ;)

Thankful Turkey

Probably my favorite easy craft is this one: you could totally make it on your own at home with a paper plate and some construction paper, but if you’re just not that kind of crafty and still want to spend this holiday season talking about things we are thankful for, this is the perfect craft for you!

Sun Catcher Leaves

The only item you need is a glue stick! Hang these all over the house: on doors, windows, and even from the fan pull string for some cute DIY fall decor. Save for years as memories and put out with the rest of the fall decor.

Perler Bead Thanksgiving Set

This one is for the older kids and does require an adult to use the iron but it’s a great way to work on fine motor skills and they can use their own creativity to create their masterpieces. The kit comes with 10 seasonal templates to follow and are color-by-number!

Thanksgiving Rock Painting Kit

This kit comes with patterns, rocks, paints, brushes, and a palette! While it may be trickier for little kids to follow the patterns, they will undoubtedly have fun painting rocks! Put along front walkway, by your front door, or in the garden!

Owl Decorating Thanksgiving Craft

This is a perfect project for kids of any age - but those preschool age kids will love adding the eyes and food onto the owls faces! Encourage silly placement of the stickers and they’re more likely to stay entertained longer!
