5 Christmas wishes I have for my boys

Before I had kids, I always said I hoped they’d turn out to be the kind of people who would always hold the door for strangers, to adopt puppies, and to always return their shopping carts (instead of abandoning them in the parking lots).

While these wishes remain true, I have updated my list now that I am forever a boy mom. And while some wishes remain gender-neutral, I’ve tweaked the wishes for these boys and what I hope for them to achieve in their lives.

5. Kindness: towards yourself, others, and strangers. You never know what a person has going on in their lives and it cost zero dollars to be kind and genuine.

4. Integrity: doing the right thing isn’t always easy, but it will always show what a good person you are.

3. Love: to love yourself and be loved by someone who loves you back and brings out the best in you.

2. Gratefulness: for everything you’ve done and earned as well as for the good people in your life.

1. Humor: that you always find joy in life, even when it’s hard or at your own expense.

Is there a wish I’ve missed that is on your list of hopes and dreams for your children or the children you wish to have?
